The combination of UPb zircon ages with Hf-Sr-Pb isotopes different intrusive and extrusive felsic sedimentary rocks provides constraints on the petrogenetic evolution continental crust in western Dharwar Craton, India. oldest detrital preserved formed at ?3.6 Ga represents a relic crustal material region. dominant granitoid units Craton contain grains magmatic between 3.4 3.0 that indicate formation major during this interval. U/Pb and Pb/Pb zircon ages from granitoid rocks of Wallagga area: constraints on magmatic and tectonic evolution of Precambrian rocks of western Ethiopia

The Precambrian rocks in western Ethiopia consist of highand low-grade terranes intruded by granitoids with a wide compositional spectrum. The formation ages of these granitoid rocks are, so far, poorly understood. Single-grain zircon Pb/Pb evaporation and conventional U/Pb dating conducted on four granitoids places time constraints on their emplacement and tectonothermal events. Three granitoi...

Widespread Archean basement beneath the Yangtze craton

The age distribution of the crust is a fundamental parameter in modeling continental evolution and the rate of crustal accretion through Earth’s history, but this is usually estimated from surface exposures. The exposed Yangtze craton in eastern China consists mainly of Proterozoic rocks with rare Archean outcrops. However, the U-Pb ages and Hf isotope systematics of xenocrystic zircons brought...

tertiary intrusive granitoids within the lut block in the khorasan razavi and south khorasan provinces are mainly sub-volcanic with porphyry texture and their composition varies from granite to diorite but monzonite is dominant. with the exception of hired, these are classified as belonging to the magnetite-series of i-type granitoids. chemically, these rocks are meta-aluminous. those with mine...

Postcollisional mafic igneous rocks record crust-mantle interaction during continental deep subduction

Findings of coesite and microdiamond in metamorphic rocks of supracrustal protolith led to the recognition of continental subduction to mantle depths. The crust-mantle interaction is expected to take place during subduction of the continental crust beneath the subcontinental lithospheric mantle wedge. This is recorded by postcollisional mafic igneous rocks in the Dabie-Sulu orogenic belt and it...
